Strategy Session- Defining The Platform and The

Business Models to Support it

1) Pre Meeting Prep During this phase  I will need a variety of information from you, things I typically ask for are anything that would be a good representation of your current IP/ Content including client work, articles you’ve written, speeches you’ve given, manuscripts or outlines for potential books, models you’ve created and used, etc.  I would also like to understand your current pipeline and your current client work in progress as well as some basic financial information on your business ( if applicable) We will discuss what you enjoy doing and what you’d like to be doing more of such as keynote speaking, training, writing, consulting engagements and developing tools.  I will also need you to spell out your goals as well as “non negotiables” relative to your achieving those goals.  I spend a lot of time diving into the IP and thinking about the current state of the business as well as looking at both through the lens of your goals.

2) On-Site Strategy and Whiteboarding Session. We will spend a day together a mutually convenient location. . During this session we will review your goals, dive deep into the inventory of resources that you have (IP, Clients, your Network, etc).  We will than discuss the platform you would most like to build and connect that to business models alternatives to determine the best model to support the platform.  We will also uncover questions that we may not be able to answer in real time and will figure out the best means of getting answers to them.

3) Post Session Debrief- Within a week or so of our meeting we will do a debrief that will include a summary of our session, decisions that were made and decisions that need to be made so that you have the clarity that you need to effectively prioritize what needs to be done.  This phase may include making some introductions and bringing in others to answer specific issues or to get legal advice if needed We will agree on what the priorities are and how tasks will be executed to support the platform.

The TLM program includes:

  1. A strategy session in which we define your target constituents, and what you’re looking to accomplish once you reach them.  We get very specific relative to your goals and expectations.
  2. Research into the ideal promotional mediums for you and your message (specific blogs, conferences, trade magazines, etc.)
  3. Organization of your existing assets (video, articles, tools, etc.) with suggestion on (and assistance in) the creation of new material.  We will also guide you in how to repurpose your content effectively so that it can be leveraged.
  4. Creation of a Target Outreach Plan, complete with specific targets, goals and track-able metrics.
  5. Initial execution of the outreach plan and facilitation of handoff of relationships.
