How are you democratizing your thought leadership?

Transcript

Hi there! It’s Peter Winick. I’m the Founder and CEO at Thought Leadership Leverage. And today, the idea that I wanted to share with you is this. What is it that you’re doing to democratize your work?

What do I mean by that? Well, what I mean by that is when working with the client base that I work with: authors, thought leaders, academics, etc., they tend to be pricey whether it’s on a day-rate basis or on a keynote basis. Or they’re, if they’re actually delivering solutions in the form of a workshop, it is pricey when the end user, the client looks at that on a per capita basis. Right. How many people am I touching divided by the total cost of the event? It’s high. Right.

One of the things that we look at and that we spend a lot of time thinking about is how do we bring that number down? How do I bring the cost per capita down from in the thousands to the hundreds, to the very very low hundreds?

Well, some of the ways that you do that are by digitizing your content, putting it out there in the form of e-learning, putting it out there in the form of assessments, certifying others to do it, train the trainer both internal and external.

So my question for you is this. You know. Is part of your business strategy the democratization of your thought leadership and content, which is driven by price and pushing that price down and down and down and down? It’s a little bit counterintuitive because we spend so much of our time and effort extracting the maximum amount of value that we can get for the work that we do. Which is fine in terms of treating yourself as a scarce resource. But layering on top of that this lower cost lower per capita option, I think is a game changer for your business.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thank you.
