When Speaking Events are Cancelled | Org TL Minute

Transcript:

So for many years, organizations used public speaking events to get their thought leadership message out to the world. And it worked really well. Conferences, panels, sponsored speaking on platforms. Until today, when we’re in an environment where those events are cancelled for the foreseeable future. And I think, for those of us who are responsible for curating an organizational thought leadership message and guiding the create of content, it is time to re-purpose.

Here are a few examples:

One savvy curator of organizational thought leadership, she reached out to her in-house gurus and said, “I know you’re not going to be out on the road. However, if you can give me a little bit of the time you would set aside for travel and use it to record short form video, that would be great.”

Another in-house guru at a different company, he spoke and traveled often. And he said, “When I’m in the office or on the road, I don’t have time to write the articles and blogs that I know would be helpful. I’m going to take some of my time and sit down and write.” Each organization is going to be different. They are going to find different solutions.

The question is: How will you and your team adapt?
