Hi there, it’s Peter Winick. I’m the founder and CEO at Thought Leadership Leverage. And here’s the idea that I’d like to share with you today — and that’s this.
Far too often I see far too many authors and thought leaders and academics and such struggling and fighting and putting so much effort and energy into being relevant, into getting their work out there, into making sure everybody is exposed to their amazing thinking and their ideas and their models and frameworks.
And what I would say is I think it’s worth considering flipping that and saying that the realization that you are irrelevant to the vast majority of people out there in the business community — or whatever the markets are that you’re serving — is really a powerful realization.
Because then you can focus on whom you want your relevance to increase with. Not just being generally relevant, but being really relevant with those that matter most to you — the folks that you could work with, the folks that you could help, the folks that could benefit from embracing your ideas and thoughts.
So, love to hear what you think about the power of being irrelevant.
