Ideas Don’t Lead to Outcomes
Transcript
Hi there, it’s Peter Winick. I’m the founder and CEO at Thought Leadership Leverage, and here’s the idea I want to share with you today, and that’s this: ideas do not lead to outcomes.
That sounds a little bit depressing if you’re a thought leader, academic, advisor, etc. It’s ideas plus execution that lead to the outcomes. Oftentimes, what I see in my work is that thought leaders are really, really rich and heavy on the idea side. They’ve got a million ideas, a million models, and a million frameworks that they put out willy-nilly, or even in a very deliberate way. But the client, the receiver of the ideas, doesn’t know what to do with them.
So, if you’re not leading them through how to execute on the ideas that you’re bringing forth to them, they’re not going to get the benefit. They’re not going to get the outcomes individually, for their teams, or for their organizations.
Ideas without execution don’t lead to outcomes. I’d love to hear how you think about this and what you’re doing to increase the outcomes that you’re getting for your clients. Thank you.
