Are you providing information or instilling wisdom?

Transcript

Hi there, it’s Peter Winick.  I’m the founder and CEO at Thought Leadership Leverage.

And here’s the idea that I’d like to share with you today. And that’s this.

Far too often, I observe thought leaders sort of not being able to differentiate between information and wisdom.

What do I mean by that? Well, luckily, the age that we live in now, information is easy to access. Data, facts, research, etc. That’s not something that necessarily creates a ton of value in and of itself.

And I would argue that as a thought leader, you’re in the wisdom business. Meaning, you’ve got to convince your clients that through the use of information that you’ve developed or researched or whatever the case may be, they’ll gain wisdom, which means they can apply that in a certain way, in certain circumstances, to solve certain problems or accelerate growth or whatever the case may be.

But that’s wisdom, and that has incredible value.

So my point, my thought, my suggestion is thinking about how you’re communicating with your prospects and your clients. Are you heavily focused on information, the comfort food of data and facts and such, or are you taking them and showing them the applied side of this, the wisdom that by working with you you’re bringing to them that gets them to a place, that gets them an outcome that’s incredibly valuable and hopeful?

Love to hear your thoughts.
