What’s your thought leader origin story?

Hi there! It’s Peter Winick. I’m the Founder and CEO at Thought Leadership Leverage. And here’s an idea I’d like to share with you today. And that’s this; what’s your story? As a thought leader, what do I mean by that? Well, in lots of professions and lots of careers, the origin story or the how they sort of got there story is kind of bland. Right. Ask an accountant how they got to be an accountant. They probably studied accounting and got a past the CPA exam. Ask a dentist. They probably went to dental school.

One of the things that I love to do is ask people that I work with, or thinking about working with, or thought leaders that I bounce into, whatever, how do you become a thought leader? How did that happen? And the stories that I get are amazing? I mean just absolutely unequivocally amazing.

So, my challenge to you is are you as a thought leader sharing your origin stories with the people that it would matter the most to? So, that they get to know who you are, and why you do what you do, and why you stand out from the crowd.

So anyway, if you’re not sharing your origin story, if you’re not telling the story of how you got to be where you are as a thought leader, I think you’re doing yourself a great disservice.
