Hi there, it’s Peter Winick. I’m the founder and CEO at Thought Leadership Leverage. And here’s the idea that I’d like to share with you today — and that’s this.
As usual, I’ve been spending a lot of time with a lot of thought leaders lately — even more so the last couple of weeks and such. And I got into this interesting conversation with a group the other day, and the gist of the conversation was, “Hey, the work is really hard. It’s getting harder. There’s constantly research to do, books to write, client deliverables, etc. How do you keep powering through?”
And there was a comment that was made that I wanted to share — and that’s this: don’t forget the joy.
That’s right — joy that your work brings to those that take it on, internalize it, and read it — your followers, your clients, etc. And joy is usually not a word that we hear a lot about in the thought leadership space.
But if your work enables someone to do something in a better way, in a different way, in an easier way, in a more satisfying way — you are bringing joy to that individual, to that team, and to that organization.
So anyway, when you’re having a tough day, I’d love for you to just take a moment and reflect — and think about the joy that your work is actually bringing to those that use it the most.
