Content, Community and Connections

Transcript

Hi there! It’s Peter Winick. I’m the Founder and CEO of Thought Leadership Leverage. And today, I wanted to share a thought with you that might go a little bit against the grain. And that is that most thought leaders spend far too much time focusing on the content.

What do I mean by that? I mean thought leadership is a business that’s based on content: developing it, deploying it, researching it, refining it. And I don’t disagree with any of that. But I think that in the world that we’re living in now, and the world that we’re moving into in 2022, the audience your followers, your clients, your customers are looking for a little bit more than content. There’s a need out there for community. And there’s a need out there for connection. Content is but one piece of the puzzle.

So, what I would suggest or potentially advocate is not to not spend time on your content but layer on top of the excellent thought leadership that you’re developing and curating etc., some space to develop some community. Some space to develop some connections.

And if you can integrate those three elements: the content, the community, and the connections, I think you’re going to be in a far better place to serve your clients, and your followers, and your audience moving forward.

Love to hear your thoughts. Thank you.
